Marion County Manager Connie Harris Orders New Truck for Road Department Lead Man Jeremiah Johnson Without County Commissioners’ Approval

Julia Pierce | August 19, 2026

This is going to be a no bones about it publication. I am going to present that evidence and that’s it.

On August 16, 2026, I submitted an Open Records Request to the County Manager’s clerk, Heather Wright, requesting the sales receipt with the year, make, model, and VIN of the truck that lead man of Marion County’s road department Jeremiah Johnson has been driving, as his own personal vehicle, when he is not working at the road department.

On August 19, 2026, Heather Wright returned the sales invoice that indicated that Jeremiah’s county assigned vehicle is a 2019 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab truck that cost the county taxpayers $17,695.00 on January 23, 2026, from GovAuction.com (you can review the photos of this vehicle). The invoice shows that this truck was sold to Connie Hendrix Harris; not the Marion County Board of Commissioners.

There is no approval from the Marion County Board of Commissioners for this purchase and this invoice doesn’t say anything about being sold to the Marion County Board of Commissioners. So, why was this vehicle purchased by Connie? Why did she pay for it out of county taxpayer money? Who gave her the permission to do so? Does the title have her name on it? The other question I have is “does Connie get to take this vehicle with her when she goes, since it is in her name?”

What do you think?
