On May 13, 2026, after publishing Will Marion County, Georgia be Getting our Own Animal Control?, I received a notification in my Facebook Messenger that indicated someone wanted to send me a message. To my surprise, it was Connie Harris, the Marion County Manager.

Connie sent,

Good morning. Your latest publication and the hand written notes you are referencing was regarding an invited guest from Ft Benning with a proposed intergovernmental agreement for possible animal control. You can verify that with the Agenda for that date. After further research and discussion with myself Ft Benning outside of the meeting, they chose to stay with Chattahoochee County. It would have cost the taxpayers too much money and the DOD would have had to build structures and we would have had to hire trained staff all in a matter of a few weeks. It was unattainable. We would have loved for it to work which is why we wanted to hear them out. I am available to meet and update you on the many items you keep addressing, I feel like portions are being pulled and used out of context. You have not reached out to me via email or phone to have any discussion or answer any of these questions. There are many things you have stated that are incorrect but I am not going to engage on social media. If you would like to schedule a meeting please call the 229/649-2603 number and ask for Heather to place you on my calendar. Thank you.

There are a few things I want to address regarding Connie’s response, and they are as follows:

• Why, if this was an agenda item and it was discussed, was it not on the meeting minutes?
• Why did Connie herself speak to this organization OUTSIDE of the commissioners meeting?
• Why after they spoke with her, did they actually choose not to bring their services here?
• Why does she say that the “many items” I “keep addressing” are pulled and used out of context” when I’m simply using what they have provided me?
• Why is she contacting me by social media when she has access to my business email and telephone number, while then stating that she’s not going to engage on social media?

Connie says that I keep pulling out information and using it outside of context, but if she and her clerks are providing me their own documentation, it’s only out of context if they have provided me the information that is incorrect.

There are some that keep screaming that I am sharing misinformation, and I can agree on that point, because I can see that what I am being sent is altered, manufactured, falsified, forged, and recreated to match what appears to be a cover-up narrative and if I’m using your own misinformation, then how can you accuse me of passing misinformation? I’m just using what YOU sent me and its working AGAINST you and proving my point about YOU.

Here was my response to Connie Harris.

Thank you for responding. May I update the publication with this information?

Also, I have tried to do open records requests and I’ve caught you multiple times lying to me and you still choose to act like you’re not.

You have had plenty of opportunities to contact me yourself and clear the air, but you have everyone else doing all of that for you and you have no problem getting them into trouble.

I see your negligence, your coverups and lies and so do the citizens in this county.

Give me evidence it isn’t you and it’s someone else and I’ll clear your name. Until then, your behavior and pattern of it, along with your negligence tell me I’m right over the mark with you.

Why was she only just now contacting me, weeks after I started publishing my findings, when she has had my telephone number this whole time and when she has had my email address this whole time?

I believe the answer is, because she is feeling very uncomfortable now and is doing what she can to try to convince me that I have her all wrong, while actually proving to me that she only cares about saving her reputation while continuing to double down on her lies.

Why did she state that I have not reached out to her via email or phone, when in fact she has been copied on those previous emails where I sent open records requests, where I questioned why I was being sent what I was, and when she was being copied by Heather Wright on my open records requests? She’s had plenty of opportunity to “clear the air.”

My answer to this is that every time I have engaged with Connie Harris, she attempts to discredit me with her lies and then says that she didn’t lie. I cannot take a person like that seriously and honestly, any answer she gives me will be more lies and I can’t keep things straight when she can’t keep things straight. I cannot stand when people lie right to my face as though I’m the one in the wrong, when I can see clearly. I refuse to be pulled into the web that Connie and her team appear to be weaving and it’s confusion. So I have just used what they have given me when I asked for it and that is their comment or response.

That being said, and as confirmation of what I suspected, here is Connie’s response.

Again, I will gladly meet if you like and clarify anything you wish. I have not lied, I believe you have been given mis information. I will gladly discuss openly in person not via messenger or social media. This is an invitation to meet. It is now in your hands if you would like to. Thank you.

So, Connie indicated that she hasn’t lied, but we caught her boasting about her successes in managing the LMIG grants, which she never had, and we have proven it, hands down. I’ve caught her in lies in previous open records requests, too.

This is a letter that Connie had her clerk, Gwen Nesbit, send to me when I performed my original open records requests where I wanted to find out where all the money for the roads was going, that started this all.

This is my response where I listed all of her inconsistencies and lies that I caught Connie trying to cover-up.

And here is a video, where another independent reporter caught Connie in a lie where she indicated that she called the sheriff on him and then said she didn’t.

It’s quite sad that she thinks that she can convince me, and the rest of you that have seen the evidence with your own eyes too, that she’s been telling the truth the whole time, when she has a proven history of lying when she’s caught doing something wrong. She has a history of lying when she is caught.

I can’t take her seriously at all, and I don’t believe anything she says, but I will say that if she says that I haven’t contacted her about anything before, I have taken that as an open invitation to contact her by email so that she can explain many of the inconsistencies I have found in the documents that her office has provided to me so that she can explain them to me before I put them out with my analysis of them, and I am awaiting her responses on a few of those things.

In sum, guys and gals, I’m sorry, but it appears that we won’t be getting that animal control after all, and I’m sorry to have to burst your bubble – for those of you who were excited about it as a possibility.

But why did the court clerk have to hide that this conversation even took place and why was Connie the last person to speak with the organization OUTSIDE of a public forum and outside the presence of the Commissioners before they bolted? Why didn’t the commissioners simply just state that they couldn’t meet the deadline for the quote or that the requirements were unattainable on the record?

This is just one more instance of what appears to be Connie doing things outside of the commissioner’s oversight, and it appears that she may be making decisions for how to use the taxpayers money without the input of the commissioners – or taxpayers – and there’s nothing on the notes, the agenda, or the meeting minutes that indicate the commissioners had anything to say about it – for or against.

So as far as the black and white and the legal presence of evidence, had Connie not told me herself, we would have never known why they decided not to bring an animal control here or that Connie was the deciding factor from her own mouth, and we definitely see that the commissioners were not part of any of those happenings and that their clerk chose not to put it on the record.

And again, I’ll ask, how am I passing misinformation, when I am using what she and her clerks are giving me?
