Anyone who knows me, knows that I take my commitment as a follower of Jesus Christ very seriously. They know that I am not perfect in how I do that; that I make mistakes – sometimes those mistakes are really big ones; they know that when I have realized I was wrong, I make the necessary change, and I forgive and ask forgiveness where I am allowed.
But today’s publication is not about me.
It is, however, about those who say they follow Jesus but DO NOT, but still use the name of Jesus in the pews and public sector to abuse the people they say they serve.
But why are the people of God even in the public sector?
Where is The Separation of Church and State?
Let me begin by stating that I am a firm believer that God did not approve of nor did he ever intend for the church and state to be separate – that was man’s doing – more specifically a Supreme Court Justice, Hugo Black, in Everson v. Board of Education (1974), whereby a New Jersey law was being challenged that allowed the reimbursement of the cost of public transportation for those who attended private schools.
Though the New Jersey law was upheld, Justice Black and his court stated that the government should be cautious of religious freedoms under the first amendment. Specifically, he said, “[t]he First Amendment has erected a wall between church and state. That wall must be kept high and impregnable. We could not approve the slightest breach.” He used Thomas Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptists, where Jefferson indicated that the State could not require them to adopt a state religion. He did not indicated that the church could have no say in the goings on of government.
What people do not know is that the government had already come undone in Marbury v. Madison (1803), because President John Adams, a Federalist who wanted the Federal Government to have more control than the states, wanted his like-minded judges to invade Thomas Jefferson’s court upon his entrance as President. James Madison as the Secretary of State refused to sit those judges because the appointment came at the 11th hour. It wasn’t personal; it was procedural. Thomas Jefferson was neither a Federalist nor an anti-Federalist. He believed that all power should be centralized and checked. Adams wanted to make sure that Jefferson’s ideals remained stagnant, and that his own [Adams’] ideals stayed impassible. And thus, we had the first instance of judge-made law, which we know now as case law. Judges were never meant to make law. But I should reserve this for another publication.
Getting back to the belief that there should be no separation of church and state, we need to go back to the history of God’s people. The people had a King – His name is Jehovah, the First and the Last, The Alpha and Omega, The Creator, the Finisher, El Shaddai, El Roy, and many other names.
He gave them men – and women – on the earth to deliver them from their oppressors called Judges. Some of those Judges were Samson, Gideon, Deborah, and Samuel. It wasn’t until the people asked for a king, like the Greeks had, that God reluctantly gave them one. He told them that a king would oppress them, put their children to slave labor, steal their land, and much more, but they still wanted a king. Talk about keeping up with the Jones’ backfiring!
So, Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, was anointed king. Saul was one of God’s people. From the outset, he failed miserably. It doesn’t say that he failed his people so much as it says that he failed to obey God by destroying the evil in the land so that his people would no longer be oppressed by them, which later required Esther to rise up and marry a heathen king in order to deliver her people from the hand of their oppressor, Haman, because he was an Amalekite prince, who would never have been born had Saul completely obeyed God and wiped out the child-sacrificing Amalekite people.
So, then David came. He delivered the people from many of their oppressors, and he was great at it. He faltered in his own flesh at times, but God called him a man after his own heart, because he repented and did what he could to make things right. Because of this, God made him a promise that his seed would sit on thrones.
Then came Solomon, the wisest king in all of history. He asked for wisdom and God gave him both wisdom and riches. Solomon’s kingdom had peace, and his people received JUSTICE. My favorite historical account of true justice is when the two prostitutes came before Solomon, and both women said that one baby was each their own. What Solomon did not know is that both women did in fact have a baby, but one of them rolled over and smothered her own baby and then stole the baby from the other woman. This is covered in 1 Kings 3:16-28.
So, how could a man, a king acting as a judge, know who the real mother was? He relied on God’s wisdom. He ordered the baby to be cut in half and to give each woman a half of that baby, to which the real mother quickly cried out, “No, give the baby to her.” It was then that Solomon knew who the true woman was because a mother would do what she needed to do so that her child would live and not die. That was justice. That was wisdom.
Let’s fast forward to today’s time.
We have what seems to be hypocrisy manifesting in the church AND in the public sector even though according to their own case laws, they are supposed to be separate.
We have men and women in the pulpits of a church speaking to the congregation about which political candidate they should vote for. We have people in public office – the government – who preach the word of God. So, where is there a separation of church and state and is it only used when a public officer is backed into a corner and they don’t want to be held accountable?
In 1954, Lyndon B. Johnson, a Senator, passed an amendment – The Johnson Amendment – that prohibited any 501c3 organization from endorsing or opposing a political candidate. To date, that amendment has not been repealed. So why are churches, who are registered as 501c3 organizations – and their pastors – endorsing or opposing ANY political candidate? Where is their separation of church and State? And where is their loss of 501c3 tax exemption for doing so?
What is a Member of the Church Doing in a Political Office?
Since 2016, I have found that there are multitudes of people sitting in public office who say that they are followers of Christ. They say that they worship God. They pray in public meetings. They use the Word of God. They attend church frequently. They outwardly herald God, and sometimes, His Son, Jesus, though I don’t hear many of them using the name of Jesus at all.
The truth is that members of the church aren’t actually in Political Office; Satan’s members are.
See, I naively thought that my public officers would help me, especially if they served the same God as me. But I was sorely deceived. I went to such people as Ricky Boren, Maureen Gottfried, Julia Slater, Barry Henderson, Theresa Tomlinson, Steven Smith, Bobby Peters, Arthur Smith, Gil McBride, Donna Tomkins, Greg Countryman, Toyia Tucker, Glenn Davis, Alton Russell, Derell Neal, Heather Stuart, Janice Daniel, Mamie Sanders, Benji Strange, Bobby Gates, Brian Kemp, Nathan Deal, Brad Raffensperger, and many more, and none of them would deliver me from my oppressor.
Instead, they turned and joined my oppressor. They slandered me, villainized me, threatened me, sabotaged me, chased me, financially exhausted me, denied my due process in the courts, falsely arrested me, denied my multiple requests for protective orders, and weaponized that oppressor against me all to keep me quiet.
If these were just worldly people, I wouldn’t be so surprised or upset, but these people say they served the same God as me. How could they be given such a position to help God’s people, but instead abuse God’s people in their position? How could they lie, cheat, steal, oppress, conspire, slander, destroy, and much more, if they were followers of the same God I followed?
None of them actually heard or looked at my evidence. They already saw me as guilty because my initial oppressor said I was. None of them sought wisdom. None of them followed the scriptures. They oppressed me even more as I shared with them about how their behaviors were in need of repentance. They doubled-down on their sin instead of repenting of it.
It was then that I found that we don’t have God’s people in public office. We have Satan’s people in public office parading as shepherds of God’s sheep. Those same wolves are in the churches.
Take Greg Countryman for example. He spews God’s word at every possible point, even to the point of accepting an award for MLK Unity in 2025, where the Reverend speaker indicated that God is the one who gives us power and not for ourselves but to give power to the powerless. If Greg didn’t believe that or live by that, why did he accept the award?
I have researched and put together several instances where Greg Countryman appears to be willing to break the law, lie to the taxpayers about the jail, and promote a fellow officer who abused his office and equipment to break the law while having an affair. Then, there is the allegation that he made a sex tape with a former girlfriend, who worked for Vivian Bishop, the Municipal Court Clerk in Muscogee County and wife of Congressman Sanford Bishop, and showed it to his frat buddies, and then turned and smeared her for wanting justice, ruining her reputation and her good name.
When he has been asked to help a widow who was being oppressed, allegedly, he turned the other way and let his friends rape her, drug her, steal from her, run up her credit cards, pin her as her husband’s murderer, and much more. And then, when J. Nathan Smith, went to him about a young autistic man in Greg’s group home for boys, Greg turned instead, and took something from this young autistic man to cause him to have an outburst and then had him arrested, while also denying him the medication he needed. Additionally, his own workers were allowed to get away with allegedly burning him with a cigarette and molesting him. Later that group home was closed and Julia Slater refused to prosecute Greg Countryman though his investigation returned gross misconduct. How is that Godly?
Since we mentioned Julia Slater above, let’s use her for another example. Julia Slater participated in framing a black man for rapes and murders though multitudes of doctors, experts, and DNA excluded him, and then, when it came to light what she and her predecessors (Ricky Boren, Doug Pullen, Bill Smith) had done to this man, they quickly had him executed, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is the one who had the final say in that.
Yet Julia’s Facebook page is full of her attendance of church services and buildings.

And let’s take Gil McBride. He has pictures all over his facebook page of church attendance, marriage to his wife in a church, and his family in front of a church, yet in the court room he behaves like a serpent. And honestly, I found him to be the worst of them all, because he appears so charming and kind on the surface – an angel of light, though inwardly he seems more like a ravenous wolf.

I saw him allow an attorney of a dead woman in Marion County, Georgia – not her estate – steal the inheritance of the woman who has been domestically violated by her husband (a deacon) and her son and sisters, and might as well be a widow, who had rightful inheritance to her land and home. And then, he turned on me as of that same day, and arranged two courts that were closed to the public, with no court recorder, though I asked for one, where he denied me witnesses – who just so happened to be sheriff’s deputies Bobby Gates and Benji Strange – threatened me that if I didn’t get a lawyer – knowing that they had financially exhausted me and kept me from obtaining gainful employment before sabotaging me – that he would allow my oppressor and her attorneys Mark Post – who was part of framing another black man for murder in Talbot County that I had been exposing – and Mitchell Ladsen to “eat me up.”
He threatened me not to record the hearing or he would have me arrested. He allowed false evidence to be presented against me, allowed falsely obtained evidence, and allowed false testimony by the oppressor to stand, whereby I wasn’t allowed to present any defense at all. My objections were ignored, my motions were ignored, and after this “Honorable” Bemon McBride III had accepted all evidence, he still allowed the oppressor and her attorneys to enter in more false evidence and then granted them the judgement for a TPO and money judgment for attorney’s fees based on that false evidence. And then, he tried to get Greg Countryman’s office to silence me at Gil’s accusation that I threatened his life because I reminded him of what the word of God says about how he is using his office to abuse others? How is that Godly?
And just today, I saw that Sheriff Derrell Neal of Marion County, Georgia has been calling for people to get in the church and get involved in unity, all while he refuses to help people in the county when they are stolen from, when their children are being abused, when drugs are being used, when their husbands are violating them, when they are being molested, when their family members have been murdered by one of his citizens, etc. Is that Godly?
So, why are these people who say they are God’s people in a public office if church and state are to be separate? And if they’re not really God’s people, then why do they need to pretend they are God’s people? And why are many of them using their church members, pastors, and pulpits to endorse or oppose political candidates if church and state are to be separate? Why are their churches receiving money to stay quiet about politics if they’re screaming it loudly at conventions and assemblies in the community?
Summary
We do not have God’s people in public office. We have Satan’s children there instead. We have wolves in sheep’s clothing parading as God’s shepherds. They’re not just in the church; they’re in the government. They are hypocrites.
Jesus told us that we would know a tree by it’s fruit. He gave us commandments to live by – don’t steal, don’t lie, don’t murder, don’t covet your neighbor’s wife, don’t worship other gods, etc. He gave us commandments through Jesus Christ to summarize those ten commandments as “love your neighbor as yourself.”
Where does your neighbor need love? Do they need clothes? Do they need water? Do they need friendship? Do they need relief from an oppressor? Do they need help from a violent husband – who just so happens to be a member of a church? Do they need help getting in and out of their county maintained road? Are they a single mom who needs assistance holding her children’s father accountable to his financial and other obligations? Are they homeless and need some compassion? Are they in prison and they need a visitor or some money on their books for paper, a cup of hot coffee, toothpaste, or a phone call home?
Isaiah 1:17 tells us “Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”
Jeremiah 22:13-7 tells us, ““Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his own people work for nothing, not paying them for their labor. He says, ‘I will build myself a great palace with spacious upper rooms.’ So he makes large windows in it, panels it with cedar and decorates it in red. “Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him. He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?” declares the LORD. “But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion.”
We are also told in Jeremiah 23:1, “Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” saith the Lord.”
Therefore, those of you who have chosen to become shepherds, and you are not doing what God says a shepherd should do, a great woe and many woes are your portion. You are wolves in sheep’s clothing marking the sheep as wolves. You should be ashamed of yourselves, but you have no more conscious. It has been seared as with an iron.
